Frostia

Privacy Policy

Frostia is a free platform designed to make lab freezer storage easier. This policy explains what information may be used by Frostia and how your lab data is stored, shared, exported, and protected.

Information You May Enter

Depending on how you use Frostia, you may enter information such as email address, laboratory name, freezer name, lab code, sample or item name, category, owner, collaborator, storage dates, notes, quantity, color tags, activity records, and freezer structure.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Frostia is designed to keep data under the user's control. Data may be stored in:

• your browser's local storage,
• a Google Sheets spreadsheet that your lab connects and controls,
• CSV or JSON backup files downloaded by you,
• your own device, browser, or cloud storage if you save exported files there.

Unless future hosted features are added, Frostia does not store your freezer data on a central Frostia server.

Google Sheets Sync

Google Sheets sync is optional. If you connect it, Frostia uses the Apps Script Web App URL and Spreadsheet URL that you provide to sync records with a spreadsheet controlled by your lab. Your Google account, spreadsheet permissions, sharing settings, and Apps Script deployment settings are managed by you or your lab.

Lab Sharing

Frostia can let approved lab members access the same workspace using a lab code and manager approval. Information entered into a shared lab workspace may be visible to approved members of that lab.

Sensitive Data

Do not enter patient-identifiable, clinical, regulated, confidential, or legally restricted information unless your lab has permission and appropriate safeguards. Frostia is not intended to be a validated clinical, regulatory, or compliance system.

Backups and Deletion

You can export readable CSV files and full JSON backup files. You can also clear browser data, reset setup, delete freezer data, or remove data from your connected Google Sheets spreadsheet. Deleting browser data may remove locally stored Frostia data from that browser.

Security

Frostia uses browser storage and user-controlled Google Sheets connections. Security depends on your device, browser, account password, spreadsheet permissions, sharing behavior, and backup file handling. Keep exported files and lab codes private.

Changes

This policy may be updated as Frostia changes. If hosted storage, analytics, or additional integrations are introduced, this policy should be updated before those features are used.
