Frostia
Terms of Service
Effective date: June 29, 2026
These Terms explain the basic rules for using Frostia. By creating an account or using Frostia, you agree to use it responsibly and understand its limits.
What Frostia Is
Frostia is a free convenience platform for organizing lab freezer storage visually. It can help users record freezer structure, sample or item details, lab access, optional Google Sheets sync, activity history, imports, exports, and backups.
Not a Validated Compliance System
Frostia is not a validated LIMS, ELN, medical device, clinical record system, regulatory compliance system, or substitute for your institution's required recordkeeping process. Your lab is responsible for deciding whether Frostia is appropriate for its workflow.
User Responsibilities
- Enter accurate information and verify important sample records.
- Keep lab codes, account credentials, and backup files secure.
- Manage Google Sheets spreadsheet permissions carefully.
- Back up important data regularly using CSV, JSON, or your lab's own system.
- Do not enter sensitive or regulated data unless your lab has permission and proper safeguards.
Lab Access
The main manager or approved managers may approve, deny, remove, or manage lab members. Anyone with approved access to a shared lab workspace may be able to view or edit lab freezer information depending on the current Frostia setup.
Google Sheets and Third-Party Services
Google Sheets sync is optional. If you use it, you are responsible for your Google account, Apps Script deployment, spreadsheet sharing settings, and any limits or changes from Google. Frostia is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google, and cannot control third-party service availability or permissions.
Backups and Data Loss
Frostia provides export and backup tools, but you are responsible for keeping reliable backups. Browser storage can be cleared, devices can fail, Google permissions can change, and files can be overwritten. Important lab records should not exist in only one place.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse Frostia, attempt unauthorized access, share lab codes with unauthorized people, upload malicious files, interfere with others' workspaces, or use Frostia in a way that violates laws, institutional policies, or lab rules.
Ownership
Your lab owns the data it enters into Frostia. Frostia's design, interface, code, documentation, name, logos, and related materials belong to Frostia's creator unless otherwise stated.
Intellectual Property
Unauthorized copying, redistribution, resale, or public reuse of Frostia's code, design, documentation, name, logos, or related materials is prohibited unless permission is granted by Frostia's creator.
Service Changes
Frostia may change, improve, remove, or discontinue features. Because Frostia is provided as a free platform, availability and functionality are not guaranteed.
No Warranty
Frostia is provided "as is" and "as available." Frostia does not guarantee that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or suitable for every lab, sample type, regulation, or institution.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Frostia and its creator are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including data loss, sample loss, experiment delay, research disruption, missed deadlines, or lost profits.
Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated as Frostia evolves. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Plain-language note: Frostia is here to help your lab work faster, but your lab should still verify records and keep backups.
